Why most SEO content fails

Most agency-produced SEO content ranks nowhere because it follows a broken formula: pick a keyword, generate 1,500 words of AI-written mush around it, publish. Google's Helpful Content Update (2022-2024) explicitly targets this pattern. Pages built to "cover the keyword" without answering a specific user question get demoted algorithmically.

The content that works follows a different pattern: pain-point + condition + direct answer. A patient searching "veneer breath" isn't looking for a 1,500-word guide about veneers — they're looking for a 60-word direct answer to whether their new veneers are causing bad breath, and what to do about it. Content that leads with that direct answer, structured as FAQ-driven Q&A with proper schema, ranks. We ship this format because it's the format that's already ranking for our clients — one of our published patient guides pulls 202 monthly clicks at position 4.6 in Google.

WHAT'S INCLUDED
  • Pain-point patient guide format: Q + condition → direct 60-word answer → FAQ-structured body (~1,500 words)
  • Service page rewrites: H1, hero, benefits, process, social proof, FAQ, CTA — all conversion-optimized
  • Geo landing pages for city or neighborhood expansion (each with unique local schema)
  • Pillar + spoke content clusters designed by SERP overlap analysis (not text similarity)
  • Every article ships with FAQPage schema for AI Overview eligibility
  • Internal linking matrix across published content (no orphan pages)
  • Publishing workflow: draft → SEO review → schema check → publish → rank tracker enrolled
  • Monthly editorial calendar aligned with your priority keyword list
Typical outcome: 3-8 new articles per month, ranking-first drafts, published live to WordPress with schema. First articles rank within 60-90 days in low-medium competition markets.
HOW_IT_WORKS

Process — how the engagement runs

Five steps from onboarding to first ranking win. Same for every client.

STEP 01

Keyword + PAA harvest

For each content brief, we pull real Google People Also Ask data + Search Console striking-distance queries + SERP-overlap clusters. Nothing gets written to keywords we invented.

STEP 02

Brief construction

Every article starts with a written brief: primary keyword, PAA questions, competing pages to differentiate from, direct-answer paragraph, H2 outline, FAQ set.

STEP 03

Draft + edit

Draft written to the brief. Every draft goes through SEO review (schema check, internal link check, front-30% answer check) before it ships.

STEP 04

Publish + schema

Article publishes to WordPress with FAQPage + Article schema. Meta title + description hand-crafted for CTR, not templated.

STEP 05

Rank tracking + refresh

Article gets enrolled in your rank tracker within 24 hours. At 90 days we check position and either promote (SERP feature capture) or refresh.

FAQ

within 60 days — questions we get

Six questions specific to this service. Longer answers on the qualifying call.

Do you use AI to write content?

Yes, and honestly. Our production pipeline uses AI for drafting after human keyword research and PAA harvesting, but every article gets human editing for accuracy, voice consistency, and factual claims. Pure AI-generated content gets demoted by Google's Helpful Content system. Human-guided AI drafting with editorial oversight is faster, cheaper, and ranks the same as pure human writing when done well.

How long are your articles?

Pain-point patient guides: 1,200-1,800 words. That's the sweet spot for ranking on the specific-answer queries these target. Pillar pages: 2,500-4,000 words. Comprehensive coverage of a topic cluster. Service pages: 1,000-1,500 words. Enough depth for ranking, not so much that conversion suffers. Location pages: 600-1,000 words. Local intent doesn't require long-form.

Who owns the content you produce?

You do. Every piece of content is delivered under a full copyright assignment — it's yours. You can republish, edit, take it with you if we ever stop working together. No "we retain ownership" games some agencies play.

Can I request specific topics or do you pick?

Both. We ship a monthly editorial calendar 30 days out based on your priority keywords, Search Console gap analysis, and PAA data. You approve or edit before we draft. If you have specific topics you want covered (product launch, seasonal push, competitor rebuttal), those go into the calendar as priority slots.

Do you write for verticals outside your core list?

Sometimes. Our proven verticals are dentist, med spa, esthetician, cosmetic clinic, PI, pool contractor, smoke shop, family law, home service. Outside that list, we'll assess on the qualifying call. We don't take on YMYL medical content that legally requires MD authorship, crypto/gambling, or highly regulated verticals like insurance without SME support from your team.

What happens if an article doesn't rank?

Every article gets a 90-day check-in. If it's not in position 1-30 by then, we run a promotion sprint: internal link injection from higher-authority pages, SERP feature capture attempts (featured snippet, PAA), content depth expansion if needed. If after two promotion sprints it still isn't moving, we replace the article with a different angle at no cost. We don't bill for content that doesn't deliver.
